Where Can I Turn for Help with Starting an NP-Owned Business?

  • Updated

AANP is always excited to hear about our members looking to make health care more accessible and bring more options to their communities.

The association currently offers a few support tools for NPs looking at starting their own practice. We currently have a Specialty Interest Group designed just for independent NP business owners and some general business and billing offerings at the AANP CE Center.

When it comes to the specifics of health care business regulation in your state, the best practice is to consult with a health care business attorney. You will want to work with someone who is well versed on the laws in your state and can guide you through the process. While AANP doesn’t have a specific referral list for attorneys, a possible referral source may be the American Association of Nurse Attorneys or your local NP association.

Congratulations on making this move! We look forward to you getting connected with other NP business leaders in the Specialty Interest Group and wish you the best of success.
