Continuing Education (CE) Poster Presenter Information

  • Updated

This article contains important information for anyone that is approved for presenting their poster for continuing education credit at the 2024 AANP National Conference.

Where Do I Submit My Poster?

Poster Presentation information (including an electronic file of your poster) will need to be uploaded to the Conference Speaker System (CSS). The poster file should be a single PowerPoint slide with horizontal/landscape orientation. Each speaker must complete their information in the CSS, but only one speaker must upload the electronic poster file. Your poster must be reviewed and approved by AANP, so please do not print your poster until you receive an email notification it has been approved. It is the presenter’s responsibility to print and mount the poster.

Posters or additional file types not submitted by the due date and do not meet AANP Continuing Education Accreditation Standards will be canceled and not included in the conference schedule. Once your Poster presentation(s) is approved, no changes will be allowed.

When Will Posters Be Presented?

The AANP national conference schedule has two separate poster sessions to accommodate the abstracts selected by the Abstract Review Panel. Each poster will be exhibited during one poster session for one day only.

Approved poster presenters will receive an email from the AANP Conference team confirming which poster group they are included in.

Continuing Education Accreditation Guidelines for Posters

CE for NPs is a systematic and structured educational process designed to enhance the knowledge and skills of NPs to influence professionalism and practice. NP CE goes above and beyond basic NP academic education to assist the NP to continue to learn. Examples of acceptable content for NP CE include:

  • information to manage and treat multiple illnesses and conditions in primary care and specialty areas
  • wellness; prevention; health promotion
  • legislative/policy issues affecting healthcare and practice
  • conversational foreign language relevant to healthcare
  • and business/practice management.

For non–clinical content, the description should include a statement of how the topic enhances NP practice. Self-improvement and exercise or stress reduction technique topics must be supported by measurable objectives which describe how the content will ultimately benefit or improve patient outcomes.

Promotional activities must NOT occur during continuing education (CE) events. This includes selfpromotion of articles, books, products, services, companies, etc. Distribution of product brochures or product information in conjunction with handouts is prohibited. Content or handouts developed by an ineligible entity (commercial interest) may NOT be used during presentations.

To accredit an educational activity for continuing education credit, specific accreditation standards must be followed. Additionally, as the provider of the education activities, AANP seeks to ensure that copyright or other intellectual property violations do not occur. Please note that fair use of copyrighted material does not apply to AANP Conferences. Approval for ‘non-commercial use’ does not apply to AANP conferences.

Please contact (512) 442-4262 or speakers@aanp.org with any additional questions related to your poster presentation.
