What are the membership requirements to become an AANP Fellow?

The Fellows of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (FAANP) program is dedicated to the global advancement of nurse practitioners (NPs) and the high-quality health care NPs deliver.

To apply to become a FAANP member, an applicant must provide demonstrated evidence of sustained contributions, leadership and accomplishments with measurable outcomes in the NP/APRN role beyond their employment responsibilities in two (2) of the following focus areas: Practice, Education, Advocacy, and Research. Interested applicants must also meet the following requirements to be eligible to apply:  
 
1 - Be a domestic or international AANP member in one of the following membership categories: International APN Members, Licensed NP Student members, NP Members, Retired NP Members.  
 
2 - Have at least two (2) years of continuous AANP membership in of these four (4) membership categories as of Aug. 1 of the application year and maintain membership during the selection process.  

3 - Secure two (2) current Fellows as sponsors to support the application. One Fellow must initiate the nomination and serve as the primary sponsor. A second Fellow will serve as the secondary sponsor. Both sponsors should have firsthand knowledge of applicant’s accomplishments.
